Borrowed Time is a unique perk belonging to William "Bill" Overbeck. It was added to the game on 8 March 2017 in patch 1.4.2 as part of the Left Behind Chapter.

You are fueled by unexpected energy when saving an ally from a hook.
Survivors you unhook:
- Keep their Endurance status effect for an extra 6/8/10 seconds.
- Keep their movement speed bonus for an extra 10 seconds.
Endurance prevents a Survivor from being downed, inflicting Deep Wound instead.
Deep Wound will put a Survivor in the dying state unless it is mended before the timer runs out.

Changes:
- Rework Reworked to account for the baseline version of the effect. Survivors you unhook keep their Endurance status effect for an extra 6/8/10 seconds and their movement speed bonus for an extra 10 seconds.

Survivors you unhook gain the Endurance status effect for 8/10/12 seconds.

- Nerf Endurance timer reduced to 8/10/12 seconds
- Buff No longer requires being in the Killer's Terror Radius to trigger
You are fueled by unexpected energy when saving an ally from a hook within The Killer's Terror Radius.
After unhooking a Survivor within The Killer's Terror Radius, they gain the Endurance status effect for 10/12/15 seconds.

Changes:
- Buff Mending period changed to 20 seconds across all tiers
- Nerf The Endurance status effect period now varies by perk level (10/12/15 seconds)
You are fueled by unexpected energy when saving an ally from a hook within The Killer's Terror Radius.
After unhooking a Survivor within The Killer's Terror Radius, they gain the Endurance status effect for 15 seconds. Any damage taken during that time that would put the unhooked Survivor into the dying state will instead apply the Deep Wound status effect. The Survivor has 10/15/20 seconds to Mend themselves.
If the unhooked Survivor takes any damage while affected by Deep Wound, or if the Deep Wound timer ends, the unhooked Survivor is immediately put into the dying state.

- Mechanic Unhooked survivors are now affected by the Deep Wound status effect
- Nerf Reduced the bleed out timer to 10/15/20 seconds
You are fuelled by unexpected energy when saving an ally from a hook within the killer's terror radius.
For 15 seconds after unhooking a survivor within the killer's terror radius, any damage taken that would put the unhooked survivor into the dying state will instead trigger a 15/20/25 second bleed out timer.
Taking any damage during the bleed out timer or reaching the end of the bleed out timer will put them into the dying state.

- Nerf Changed Borrowed Time to only protect the unhooked survivor
You are fuelled by unexpected energy when saving an ally from a hook within the killer's terror radius.
Once per match, for 15 seconds after unhooking a survivor within the killer's terror radius, any damage taken that would put you or the unhooked survivor into the dying state will instead trigger a 15/20/25 second bleed out timer.
Taking any damage during the bleed out timer or reaching the end of the bleed out timer will put you into the dying state.

- Nerf Reduced the bleed out timer to 15/20/25 seconds
- Nerf Reduced the activation window to 15 seconds after unhooking
You are fuelled by unexpected energy when saving an ally from a hook within the killer's terror radius.
Once per match, for 20 seconds after unhooking a survivor within the killer's terror radius, any damage taken that would put you or the unhooked survivor into the dying state will instead trigger a 30/35/40 second bleed out timer.
Taking any damage during the bleed out timer or reaching the end of the bleed out timer will put you into the dying state.
